Welcome to Waterside Model Club’s car section, we are a friendly club based at Gang Warily Recreation Centre, Newlands Road, Fawley. We’re always pleased for new members to join us, whether you’re a novice or an experienced racer. If you have never raced before or used to race and are keen to get back into the sport please feel free to come along and have a chat with our members.

We have a large indoor carpet track, we currently race 1/10 Touring cars,12th LMP cars, Tamiya TT-01 Racing Trucks and Tamiya M Chassis (mini)

We normally race every other Sunday (venue permitting) from 8.30am to 12.30pm, please check the website for dates.

How can I find you?

When do you race?
We race every other Sunday, the sports hall is open from 8.30am to set the track up, please check the website for the next race date.

What cars do you race?
Touring: Electric powered 1/10th touring cars, 17.5t motor limit blinky speed controller.

LMP 12th: 13.5t motor limit 1s lipo, blinky speed controller, open choice of tyre.

TT-01 Racing Truck: As per standard kit, with the following Hop-Ups:- Ball-raced, aluminium centre shaft, oil filled dampers.

Minis: 2WD (front or rear wheel drive) M-chassis can be used. Any Hop-Up parts are allowed that are made for that car. Only 27turn brushed sealed stock motor or 21.5 brushless (any manufacturer) is allowed. Any M-chassis rubber or foam tyre may be used. 

 What do I need to race?
An electric powered 1/10th or 1/12th scale car, a couple of batteries lipo bag/sack and charger. If you have not bought a car yet please come along and see which class you would be interested in, we’re happy to give some impartial advice.

What tyres do you allow?
Any rubber slick tyre for touring car class, any foam tyre for LMP, Kit tyre only for TT-01 Trucks, rubber or foam tyre for Mini M-chassis

How much does it cost to race for the morning?
Current fees per race meeting are: Adult non-member £8, Adult Member £7, Junior non-member (Under 16) £5, Junior member(under 16) £4. All race fees include insurance.
