The 10th Off Road Mid West Regional Series. 

 

The Mid west 1/10th off road section are pleased to announce the 2022 10th Off Road Regional Series, 

Trophies will be awarded at the last round of each championship for the overall series, and for U13, U16 and over 40’s

 

Note: There will be a control tyre rule for this year of Schumacher Mezzo or Dart in any compound.

Round 1 (2WD) - 1st May 2022 @ Coventry 

Round 2 (2WD) - 26th June 2022 @ Oswwestry 

Round 3 (2WD) - 31st July 2022 @ Kidderminster

Round 4 (2WD)  - 11th September 2022 @ Telford 

 

Round 1 (4WD & Trucks) - 3rd April 2022 @ Coventry 

Round 2 (4WD & Trucks) - 29th May 2022 @ Kidderminster

Round 3 (4WD & Trucks) - 14th August 2022 @ Oswestry 

Round 4 (4WD & Trucks) - 18th September 2022 @ Telford 

 

Meeting Format and Race Times

1 x round of timed practice in heat order

4 x rounds of 5 minute qualifying with the best 2 to count

1 final for all with 3 Legged A finals for 2wd & 4wd, series points to be awarded based on final positions

The BRCA 10th Off-Road Scottish Section are pleased to announce the Calendar for the 2022 season.

The BRCA Regionals have earned a reputation for being a very competitive series. The clubs involved will make it the friendliest and most welcoming atmosphere you will find.  This is a series of events, open to drivers of all abilities, that offers the opportunity to race against and learn from some of the country’s best drivers.

£8 entry for each class, multiple classes can be entered.
Under 16’s will be FREE, but you must use the discount code juniorscotland to get this.

2WD and 4WD on the same day. 

The winner of each Championship will be the driver that has the best 3 from 4 overall scores, that is of the four rounds of each class, your best three scores will go towards your overall Championship position and your 2023 Formula grade.

How To Enter: 

To enter simply make sure you (the driver) are logged into the BRCA site with your account to enter the events.  Complete the online booking.  Payment must be made online at the time of booking.

Under 16 please use coupon code juniorscotland to zero the amount in the basket before processing your entries.  Entry booking and payment must arrive no later than the Wednesday before the event.  Booking in closes 10pm on the Wednesday before the event.

Conditions of Entry – Please Read Carefully!

Entries will only be accepted on the official BRCA Website Entry System. 

Refunds will not be given after the closing date for any confirmed entries that are cancelled, other than for exceptional circumstance.

Be aware that :- Digital images may be taken by a third party that may be used to promote the Sport or Events.

Confirmation of entry for all events will be communicated nearer the time, with further details of the venue.


Control Tyres:

The permitted REAR tyre for 2022 BRCA Off-Road National Championship events is :-

  • Schumacher Mezzo
  • Pro-Line Pyramids
  • Ballistic Buggy Minispikes
  • Schumacher Mini Spikes

Compound and quantity used is not restricted.  Front tyres remain open choice.  Please be aware this tyre rule is likely to be changed/simplified  in 2023.

 

Meeting Format and Race Times

1 x round of controlled practice in heat order
4 x rounds of 5 minute qualifying with the best 2 to count (round by round)
1 Final for all drivers

Timetable:

7:45 - Booking in opens
8:15 - Drivers briefing
8:30 - Controlled practice (in heat order) & booking in closes
10:00 - Heat 1 on the line for Qualifying (4 Rounds)
16:30 Approx - Finals (1 leg final for all)


Rules to BRCA 10th offroad as below.   All marshals must provide their own Hi-Viz.  Random cell voltage checks can be made before each heat is run, Batteries and motors as per BRCA Handbook.  The charging of LiPo batteries must be in a protective container (eg. a LiPo Charging Bag)

This gives racers info on the venue and its facilities, recommendations and other info such as local hotels etc.
 
* Note1 - The Falkirk club have communicated they are going though some changes they aren't going to host a round of regionals this year, but should be in a better position next year. This means that Falkirk's date will now be free and Glasgow will host the rescheduled round on this new date - Sunday 11th September.
We will transfer any of rd2 entries to this new date. If you aren't able to make it, please let us know below or message us and we will organise a refund.

The regional series for 10th off road bases in the East Midlands.

Race Format

2 Rounds of timed practice which are 3 or 4 minutes

4 Rounds of qualifying with the best 2 to count. Heats are 5 minutes

1 Final for all drivers which are all 5 minutes

Marshalling 

Marshalls must wait to be relieved before leaving their designated post to make it easier to identify that all marshals are present.

Championship & Regional Championship Points Scoring System

The series will consist of 5 rounds with the best 3 to count to your overall championship score


Championship points for the 2022 season will be awarded for final position only with one bonus point awarded to the TQ driver. The winner of each Championship will be the driver that has the best 3 from 5 overall scores, that is of the five rounds of each class, your best three scores will go towards your overall Championship position and also your 2023 Formula grade.

Drivers are reminded that although they can race in more than one region they can only score Regional Championship points in one! They must inform the club officials they are scoring points in another region at the time of booking into the meeting. These drivers must be removed from the regional finals and be placed in the open class finals.

Junior Classes:

As with last year there will be two junior classes competing within the main body of both the two and four wheel drive Regional Championships. They are Under 13, that is under the age of 13 as of 01 January 2022 and Under 16, that is under the age of 16 as of 01 January 2022. The top 3 juniors in each age group at each meeting will be awarded medals. Championship trophies will be awarded at the end of the season for both age groups.

ALL Juniors (both U13 and U16) will race for FREE at ALL BRCA ME Regional Championship rounds. When entering please use discount code EastMidJunior to get your free entry 

Open Class:

We will host an open class at each of our meetings where drivers from other regions may compete as well as buggies we will permit the use of rally cars and both stadium and short course trucks. Drivers competing in the regional event may NOT enter the open class as well.
