2018 – Large Scale Off Road Round 1 – Countdown begins & free food!

Large Scale Off Road

With less than 3 weeks to go before the opening round of the 2018 LSOR championship could I take the opportunity of reminding those drivers who are wanting to enter this year’s series to pre book your place, payment can still be made trackside unless you want to get it done out the way and pay before hand.

So far nearly 50%  of the available places have been booked across the 8 rounds of the championship and since we will be limiting the number of places to 20 two wheel drive, 30 4 Wheel drive and 30 short course entries it is in your interest to pre register so you get your place in this popular off road series.

Round 1

Booking in is extremely important for the section and you at round 1. We will be not only be having a discussion mid-afternoon but I will be making all attendees aware of our section's 2018 AGM plans along with the BRCA AGM and we will round the day off with the 2017 trophy presentation once the days practice and scrutineering activities are over.

The section will be serving a free simple hot buffet and drinks to round off the awards so please ensure you are booked in so you don’t miss out!!

With regards round 1, the Nene have confirmed :-

Camping will be available from Friday and is £10 for the weekend but I am afraid there will be no electrical hook ups to power caravans. Group battery charging points will be acceptable but the Nenes priority will be powering race control, toilets, lights and the catering crew.

Practice will be available on Saturday from noon until 5, costing £5 per racer (Juniors free) with a break at 2pm for a section meeting to discuss the year ahead and track maintenance.

Louise will be providing the catering again which will be available from noon Saturday until we close on Sunday with hot and cold food along with the traditional breakfasts, teas, coffees and burgers.  To help with the planning can I ask that all those wishing to race to please book in ahead of the meeting via the BRCA website so Louise can ensure the catering is done for the required level of attendees.

For those who have not been to the Nene before then their address is :-

Nene Valley Raceway Off Road Model Car Club

Airfield Road

NN29 7XA

Once you near the area follow the Santa Pod direction signs and as such travel up Airfield road and on the right hand side you will see the BRCA banner on their gate.

Can I make one final plea and ask all those wishing to enter this national PLEASE register on the BRCA website by midnight on 17th March to enable race control to set up the timing computer and catering to be confirmed.

I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks for our opening round of our 2018 race series, for those who cannot make it and 4G signals permitting our live timing should be up and running.
