BRCA LSOR National Round 6 and 50th Anniversary Celebration

Large Scale Off Road

The LSOR BRCA are extremely excited to announce our club we have chosen for our large scale off road BRCA 50th Anniversary!

We have chosen the awesome Sussex RC Car Club track set in the stunning countryside of Ringer. Sussex RC Car Club made its debut appearance on our racing calendar in 2021 and what an experience it was! The feed back we got was second to none and the racers and families loved it so much we thought what better place to hold the anniversary race weekend and party than there. Not only is this going be a fantastic weekend of racing and some exciting things happening, it is also for a great cause as is in aid of a charity very close and personal to the founder of Sussex track, Kevin Sexton. It is a brilliant family friendly RC club.

Sussex Rc Car Club was founded by Kevin Sexton.
Kevin has been in to RC since he was around 13 years old so 37 plus years he started the club back in 2008 with just a few  people meeting at a skate park in Newhaven. This group then moved to Wilson Avenue in Brighton where they put out their 1st track made from a few old tyres and hose pipe. After a year of doing that they searched and found the grounds at the farm in Ringmer in 2010, and that's where Sussex RC car club really came alive and started to put itself on the map!

Their very 1st ever timed race was in June 2011. Kevin also raced at Adur model car club with the 1/8 scale and he started racing BRCA LSOR nationals in 2016. Kevin’s son Evan started with his love for RC cars before he could even walk! He loved his little RC car,  bum shuffling around the floor chasing after it. He then got his first proper RC car at only 4 years old and has been driving them ever since.

As many of you may know, he has raced at national level for the last 4 years and entered his first national at MMR and even managed a bump up in his first ever final in a large scale event which was just such a proud moment for everyone. Evan is a shining star and has won the Sussex junior championship twice and also finished inside the top 3 every season since he started.

Evan was born with an amniotic amputation so only has the one hand on the right and no hand on the left side and amazes his family and friends every single day. He is an absolute legend with a can do attitude and its just incredible watching him race.

Kevin also has another son Owen and he quotes “Owen has helped me throughout the years and if it was not for him I could not have done it, thank you Owen.”

The charity that is chosen and has a lot of meaning behind is Team UnLimbited. Team UnLimbited strives to be a catalyst for change in the complex world of upper limb devices. By giving the world a helping hand, they can help improve the confidence and courage of children and adults with limb difference. And ultimately, work towards removing the long-standing stigma around discussing disability.

This is set to be such a memorable weekend with so much in store!

Free food and drinks on the Saturday evening with entertainment, an unforgettable hot dog eating competition, a raffle with some great prizes including a one of a kind BRCA licence number of 71! This is pretty special as it is the year the BRCA was founded. There will also be yummy food provided by Emma’s Kitchen and a karaoke so you best bring your singing voices!

Honesty guys and girls, this is one NOT to miss. Not only an epic event, supporting Large Scale Off Road but also such a great charity cause.

More information will be provided in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled, get booked in and bring your game face!
