BRCA LSOR National Round 7 to trial Controlled Practice

Large Scale Off Road

Given the high number of registered entries for the forthcoming BRCA LSOR National R7 to be held at North Ings raceway this weekend, the section have been in discussion with the host club to ensure a smooth, fair and safe practice session on Saturday 18th September.

The conclusions of these discussions is the BRCA LSOR Section and North Ings Raceway have agreed to trial a Controlled Practice at this event.

What does that mean for you as a racer?

For those attending on the Friday, open practice will remain as normal. Please ensure you have paid your practice fee (£5) to the club.

For those attending on the Saturday, practice will now be run in set class and unseeded random heat format similar to the format for qualification. Practice heats will start on Saturday immediately after a drivers briefing scheduled for 9am. Heats of 10-12 drivers will have exclusive use of the track for 15 mins with marshals to maximise track time. You will then marshal the practice heat after your practice time. You will get 3 x 15 minute practice sessions during Saturday before the usual round of Qualifying that will commence around 4pm. Please ensure you have paid your practice fee (£5) to the club.

For those attending Sunday, the day will run as normal.

An updated timeschedule, new practice heats and re-confirmation of the qualification heats has been emailed to all registered drivers today.

As stated at the start of this communication, this is a trial to find new and better ways to improve the overall experience and safety of our national events and series as our numbers continue to grow and would very much welcome feedback from our members after the event.
