Clean sweep for Pole at home track.

Round 4 of the BRCA Scottish Off Road Series was held at Glasgow Raceway, in East Kilbride, on Sunday 11th September 2022. A cold start to the day with heavy dew leading to a wet track for the start of the event, then early morning sunshine dried up the track.

The Glasgow Raceway track is an off road astro track with most of the sand removed. Grip in the dry was extremely high and the track layout was a mix of slow technical sections along with longer faster sections. The event was supported by the East Kilbride Sports Club who laid on breakfast sausage/bacon rolls and burger/hot dogs for lunch and bringing them out trackside for those who pre-ordered

David Mclean was on pace straight away and took 2wd TQ in rd1 by 0.07s from Daniel Pole and Allan O’Brien. Daniel headed the 4wd standing followed by David Scott and Allan in round 1.

Daniel Pole took overall TQ in 2wd and 4wd with some extremely close racing promised in all finals.  The rain came on just in time for the finals!

With qualifying over the grids for the finals were set. The 2WD A Final would line up:

In the 4wd A final Dan broke away with an early lead but Allan pushed to the absolute limit with a masterclass of car control to reel Dan in but made a mistake on the last few laps meaning Dan took the double.  Superb to see Mark Gillies with his Durango proving you don’t need to have the very latest car!!!  Again, fantastic racing throughout all the finals and a huge amount of fun!
