The first round of the 2018 AWS series started at the popular club Ledbury Model Car Club. The track was open from 10am till 5pm on the Saturday before the meeting for open practice. This was £5 per driver and goes straight to the club. There was a few drivers that was practicing, One of which was Stephen Hamiliton who came all the way from South Coast Nitro.

The weather gods were very kind to us for the meeting, The turn out was good, We had 50 drivers for the event. We had 3 rounds of qualifying with the best two to count

Each race was 6 minutes with a 90 second rolling start, Qualifying progressed at a nice space and we saw the track drying out and the lap times starting to fall as the day progressed.

With the numbers that we had, We ran 5 finals which were 18 minutes and the top 4 drivers bumping up into the next final.

In the end we saw Elliot Taylor take the win in the Buggy Class. New driver to the series Chris Leighton took second place. Local driver Nathan Powney. In the Truggy Class Jonn Howells a driver for assocciated take the win, With a regular to the series Carl O'Connor take send place. Chris Cox took third place.

I would like to thank you everyone for coming along today and supporting the series. Massive thanks goes to the team at Ledbury model car club for hosting us this year and all of your effort in getting the track ready and for the help throughout the event.
