Welcome to the BRCA 1/10 Off-Road Truck Section, catering for electric 2WD and 4WD 1/10 Short Course Trucks (closed-wheel) and electric 2WD 1/10 Stadium Trucks (open-wheel). These exciting classes are inspired by full-size racing categories from around the world, bringing realistic looks, close competition, and fantastic racing action to the RC track.
Our section welcomes racers of all ages and abilities. Truck racing is particularly popular with newcomers and junior competitors, offering an ideal introduction to competitive RC racing. The vehicles are simple, reliable, easy to maintain, and highly rewarding to drive. With low running costs, durable tyres, and excellent value for money, Truck racing provides an accessible route into the world of RC motorsport without requiring a large budget.
The BRCA National Series offers exceptional value, providing competitors with extensive track time throughout the day. Racers can typically expect four rounds of qualifying followed by three rounds of finals, giving everyone plenty of opportunities to compete and improve. Events are held at some of the UK's finest off-road venues, featuring a variety of track surfaces and layouts that challenge drivers and reward skill and consistency.
As the section continues to grow in popularity, an increasing number of families are joining us at events. Alongside the racing, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere has helped create a strong community where lasting friendships are formed and weekends away become something to look forward to.
Whether your goal is to compete for national titles or simply enjoy racing with like-minded enthusiasts, Truck racing can be as competitive as you want it to be. Above all else, our focus is on enjoying the hobby, supporting fellow racers, and having fun.

Last weekend saw just under 70 drivers gather at Telford Model Car Club’s all Astroturf off-road track in Shropshire. Those that could, arrived on Saturday as the Truck Section provides Open Practice from 12 noon, which is great for all, whether they be regular Truck racers or those new to the class or National competition. On a side note, it was good to see that there were many Junior drivers in attendance, the Truck Section is very much a family orientated section of our hobby.
After a warm and dry afternoon on a very dry, grippy track the weather looked bleak for early Sunday morning, Race Day! And so it proved, practice was delayed due to the onset of rain so the track was wet for timed practice and remained damp for the first round of Qualifying but dried and obviously got quicker as the day progressed. This would be the start of many drivers chasing after the right tyre choice for their chassis.
These events cater for four different classes of 1/10 electric Truck these days. 2WD Short Course, 4WD Short Course, 2WD Stadium Truck and within that class the new (sort of!) 2WD Vintage/Rear Motor Stadium Trucks, basically running to Iconic Revival regulations and limited to 10.5 turn brushless motors.
The four rounds of Round-by-Round type qualification, with two to count, were shared by Jamie Long, Ben Baxter and Tony Chapman in 2WD Short Course with Jamie taking overall TQ with two round wins, Ben would line up second on the grid for the three-leg finals, Tony in third, tied on points but times splitting the two EPR based drivers. Ben Baxter would take the overall win, winning the first two legs of the finals, Jamie Long won the third and final leg to finish second overall, Neil Atack would nick the last place on the podium. Richard Birchall would dominate and win the B Final.
4WD Short Course qualification was dominated by Eddy Rowland, him winning all four rounds. Saul Hocking would line up second on the grid having finished second in all four rounds and Paul Mycock would take the third spot on the finals grid. Eddy would continue his domination of the class by winning all three legs of the finals and thereby the overall win, two out of three legs counting, with Saul hanging onto second place overall and Adam Bedford moving up from fourth place qualifier to take the third podium position.
And so to the Stadium Trucks, including the new (old!) Vintage/Rear Motor 2WD trucks. Section Chairman, TMCC’s very own, and our Race Director for the weekend, Tony Bishop would dominate qualification, he too winning all four rounds, using his Schumacher Storm ST2. Team Associated/CML driver, Kit Jones would be consistent through qualifying and grid up second for the finals, Alan Wheeldon would start third on the grid. The Vintage/Rear motor trucks were being run concurrently with the modern ST’s and your race reporter, Steven Brooke, was the highest placed qualifier in this new class. Tony would continue his dominance of this class into the first leg of the final winning that one but that’s where it would end! Kit Jones winning legs two and three to win the meeting overall, Tony would finish second with seasoned campaigner, CML’s Keith Robertson finishing third. The B Final was won by Joe Cockill, the C Final by James Moulds, the D Final by Cameron Charity and the E Final by Phil Lewis. The highest placed Vintage/Rear Motor 2WD Truck driver, Steven Brooke, would win that class.
